There were a bunch of Harry Callahan/Dirty Harry movies on tv this weekend. When I wasn't otherwise occupied, I watched a few of those. Magnum Force, The Dead Pool, and part of The Enforcer. We also saw the very end of the Gauntlet, which has Clint Eastwood, but is not a Dirty Harry movie. I like the good guys/bad guys aspect of the movies, even though the cop (good guy) has some questionable ethics (he kills the bad guys instead of arresting them and trial by jury). He has his reasons. At least he kills the bad guys, not the innocent bystanders. And there is not as much blood & guts as more modern movies. I also really liked Gran Torino, Clint Eastwood's latest offering. It will make you cry. It does have some bad language. I say, rent it now.
I baked a peach cobbler for the weekend (from my Better Homes & Gardens Cookbook). The cobbler part didn't turn out quite as good as the last time. Not sure what I did differently. I guess I just didn't mix it well enough before adding it to the peach part. Took the cobbler to a picnic on Saturday, where I got to see my sister and some niece & nephews.
Sweet P and I had our first disagreement since we've been married. No, it was the 2nd. I'm not even sure if I'd call it a disagreement. He hurt my feelings. He was being pragmatic, I suppose; wanted to spare me of some drudgery, he claims. My point is this: I'm thankful to have such a sweet husband and so few problems in our relationship. We don't agree on everything, by far, but it is so rare that anything we disagree upon is actually a problem. We're so good for each other.
