I would just like to ask why is it that touchy-feely-huggy people get preferential treatment?
I am not a huggy person. If a huggy person is glad to see me and they want to hug me, it is perceived as rude if I somehow can manage to give them the brush off and get away without a hug. Whereas, I think it is rude for them to impose their idiosyncrasy on me by touching my body instead of just giving me a handshake or a fist-bump or just a smile and "hi there!".
Am I wrong?
This is driving me nuts lately. Let me get to know you and let us become friends before you try hugging and kissing me. Please? The hug-first-get-to-know-you-later is a sure way to alienate me from ever becoming your friend.
