Boilermaker in 15 days!!!!!
I'm going to do a shorter run with hills this weekend (probably 5-6 miles). Then my usual 3 milers next week. Then taper, which means increasingly shorter runs, the next week until the race on the 11th.
EEK! It's almost here.
On the topic of running, I'll be volunteering at the Rochester Marathon, as usual. And I hope and plan to run the 10K on Thanksgiving. It should be a mellow rest of the year. If I can keep up my normal 3 milers on weekdays and 5-6 on weekends, I'll be in good shape for a Turkey Day race.
My sweetie's interview yesterday didn't appear to go very well, in his opinion. They asked him for an unusual and interesting fact about himself. This, of course, stumped him and made him stumble. He offered that he paints and plays music. I'm sure he didn't say it with as much confidence as he should have, however. He paints beautiful pictures: they're all rectangles, though. No landscapes for him. It's all about the colors and moods. I love his paintings. If they asked me for a fun fact about him, that's how I would have phrased it. But they don't let me interview on his behalf.
I feel so badly for him, the frustration he has. But at the same time, if Chicagoland is not meant to be, let it be. Something else will come along. Eventually. The Lord knows what we need and where He wants to put us, or how long he wants us to suffer in a part-time job until we learn whatever lesson we're supposed to be learning, right? I, for one, am pressing into the Lord and learning so much lately. Learning about submission is not fun, but it is rich. And persistence, humility, love, selflessness, righteousness...
