This is my year. If I focus, I can accomplish my goals.
Things to add in my life in 2009:
1. Healthier eating habits
2. More activity, specifically weight training (strengthening) at the gym
3. More time reading the Word
4. More personal discipline
5. Finish the AS in Business Admin?
Things to subtract from my life in 2009:
1. 20 more lbs. (and the inches and clothing sizes associated therein)
2. Negative thoughts
3. Medication
4. Clutter
5. Sugar/unhealthy foods
I was doing really well at going to the gym in the mornings, before I got married. Now my mornings are a little more complicated, especially in the winter when shovelling snow is involved. I like the gym better in the AM, because it seems a little less chaotic and noisy. Perhaps there are fewer morning people, I'm not sure. But for now, the PM workout seems to fit my schedule, so I will try to get there 3x a week. Since my new class is Tues/Thurs, going to the gym Mon/Wed/Fri should not be a problem.
I'm in the middle of a new, big knitting project. It is my first attempt at a lace-type thing. I'm 1/4 finished, but I keep making little mistakes. It really annoys me! I can understand making mistakes the first time through the pattern (I repeat a 32-row pattern 10 times to make the complete shawl), but at this point I should be able to do it with no glitches. Should. Can't. Every so often I mis-count and then need to go back and figure out what went wrong and fix it. GRRR! But it is a lovely pattern and very soft yarn. I can't wait until it is finished! I'm really very excited about this shawl, which is a gift for my mother. I hope she can use it when she goes out on the town with her sisters. Last time she borrowed one of my shawls.
My knee is holding up well. No running problems lately. Just might do the Boilermaker. I'll start training for that in March or April. I just might do it. I ran one of the "Snow Cheap" races at Cobbs Hill recently. That was fun but also terrifying. Terrifying because parts of the trail were so icy. My trail sneaks were definitely better than some of the sneaks other people were wearing, but I think maybe snowshoes would have been even better. Maybe? I've only snowshoed once, so I was hesitant to do that. I enjoyed the snowy parts of the race, and I enjoyed that it was at night. I got to wear the new headlamp I received for Christmas. It worked great! I hope the next race will fit my schedule and that it will be less icy perhaps.
I'm not exactly sure how many more credits I need for this AS degree. I plan to stop on campus and talk to an advisor again (I did this in the fall), just so that I know for sure which credits from my old degree they are transferring and which classes are yet required of me. It would be great if that could be finished in '09. But then I will transfer to Geneseo or Brockport for the BS. That's more money and more driving, and that will take a while to finish. I probably need to screw my courage to the sticking place and take on another class each semester. Instead of 6 or 8 credits, it would be 10 or 12 or so. Egad! and work full time?! But the sooner I finish, the better. And then, I have some big decisions to make about whether to pursue the CPA exam. But that's another post for another day.
