Don't tell anyone. I'm at work -- nearly the end of the workday -- but my mind isn't here. I have a final exam in Chemistry in about an hour. I answer the phones, type the stuff that needs to be typed... but I'd rather be someplace else reviewing my notes.
I have an exciting opportunity on Friday (tomorrow!). It will be my debut playing the bodhran. Bodhran is an Irish drum. Sweet P gave it to me for Christmas, our first Christmas being married. The occasion is a fund-raiser for a short-term missions trip to Ireland. No, I'm not going to Ireland, but my sister and other friends from Lima are going to County Kerry in July. I'm VERY excited for them. A missionary trip, however short, can change your life. Not to mention the lives of the people you meet there!
I'll be accompanying a fiddle, guitar, piano and singers. I wish there was a mandolin. I mean, I have a mandolin, but I don't know how to play it actually. But I think it would add to the sound. We're playing Kerry Reel, When Irish Eyes are Smiling, Be Thou My Vision, and Galway Races (maybe? we didn't really get to practice that one... i'm a wee bit nervous.). Anyhow, it should be fun.
I better run along.
