this is nephew b riding a horse named gabe. gabe is much taller than the last horse b had a chance to ride, which was named pee-wee, if that tells you anything.
we spent a sorta-rainy sunday afternoon at HORSE rescue & sanctuary's "open house" in york, ny. these people do a terrific job. they love these animals. i was glad to visit and see what it's all about. b and i got to feed a couple of the horses carrot sticks. then, as you can see, b got to take a ride around the property.
they try to adopt out many of the horses that come through the rescue, if anyone is looking for a horse. some need extra medical attention, because they're old or were mistreated before they were rescued. the facility can always use donations, if anyone is so inclined. so, that's my little p.s.a. about that.
i was thinking my blog could use a picture again. i've been slacking on photos and using waaay too many words. so there's a cute little picture, and information about a good local charity. and this is off topic, but i just love living in upstate ny. the farms, the hills, the seasons, the trees, the lakes, the not-too-big cities (although i love The Big City too). this is just a great place to live.
