garrett chapel

a couple of weeks ago i took a drive with a friend. first we stopped in lima to pick pears. then we went to naples for grape pies. then we headed over toward keuka lake to check out garrett chapel. keuka lake is Y-shaped and garrett chapel is on the bluff in between the two forks of the Y. it's surrounded by trees, but also has a nice view of the lake. i took some pictures, but not one that gives you a good look at the whole chapel. my pictures are just some of the details we encountered. there are a couple more pictures on my flickr page. i like these the best. it was a beautiful day for a drive. my parents found this chapel a couple of years ago. mom had suggested that if, one day, i ever decided to marry that maybe this would be a nice place to have the ceremony. so i filed that information away and have been wanting to visit this little chapel ever since. unfortunately since sweet p and i decided to marry in february, it wasn't an option for us. i still didn't get to see the inside (you have to visit between memorial day and labor day), but i think it is an enchanting little place.
