life in my new town

lotsa, lotsa hills
really tall trees
seems like everyone has a dog
seems like a lot of people here smoke
pushing drugs (just kidding -- sugar and caffeine) at my new job, for now
working on an OT survey Bible institute class (online)
learning to quilt
seems like my honey is enjoying his job (so glad!!)
signed up to volunteer at the hospital, but waiting for my background check to clear
love the fog on running mornings
love the park and trails nearby
thankful to live up on a hill instead of down by a river prone to flooding
found a good, solid church (so glad!)
miss NY and my friends and family
met a fellow western-New Yorker at the quilt shop, and her dog Pebbles
the grocery store is pathetic and expensive (we miss WEGMANS!)
there is a starbucks and a panera bread
who knew Ross's Dress for Less and TJ Maxx had such nice stuff?
black and gold is a huge deal here, even though we're 2 hrs drive to pittsburgh
college football is a HUGE deal here, too (i don't get it.)
people can tell by how i talk that i'm not "from here"
i'm not sure what i say differently from them
street signs are totally optional
apparently driving lessons are optional as well
rabbits are the new squirrel
a bank on every corner, but the post office remains elusive
pigeons are noisy scaredy-cats
the mayor of our block is a cat named coaltrane (sweetie!)
i guess the pigeons are right to be afraid of coaltrane
our sun porch feels like a tree house
the cheap movie theater serves lunch or dinner while you watch
my car looks half-naked with only one license plate
that's all for now!
