Quote of the Day

"I think the purpose of life is to be useful, to be responsible, to be honorable, to be compassionate. It is, after all, to matter: to count, to stand for something, to have made some difference that you lived at all."
– Leo Rosten

I like this quote. I realize that it doesn't take into account the Christian worldview. Of course the purpose of life, once your life is redeemed, is to point people to the Lord Jesus Christ. However, in a general sense, I believe Mr. Rosten hits the nail on the head. If more people were more responsible, honorable, compassionate... what difference would that make in the world?

I recently heard about an old friend from grade school. Haven't seen him or his family in years. He always was a unique type of guy. He is a believer. And apparently, he has a knack for meeting, embracing, and loving everyone, even ones who may seem frightening and unlovable to others of us. I admire this about him. I wish I could be more like that.

Anyway, just thinking about stuff. Thought I would share the quote.
