we all have our quirks

Here's a little bit of life update. The good, the bad & the ugly. There shouldn't be too much ugly. Probably mostly good.

The company I work for is in a state of transition right now. It is somewhat stressful. I tend to be a melancholy sort of girl, so I am more sad & apprehensive about this than I probably should be. Nevertheless, I am sad, but I am hanging in. Until Sweet P finds a job (whether here or there), I'll be staying here. And I'll try not to be too sad. Change is hard. And also inevitable.

I have an unusual teacher for my economics class this summer. He told us that he pays his property taxes in cash. Not just cash, but he goes to the bank and gets all $1 bills. Takes off the little wrappers that bundle the $1 into $50 packs, so they are all loose dollars. Puts them in a pillow case and goes down to the town hall to pay his taxes. His reasoning is that if they are going to take that much of his money, they are going to work for it. Yep, I'm sure the little clerk at the front desk, who has to count the money, one by one, is really the one responsible for the fact that he has to pay it. I think this is very funny, even though my heart goes out to the clerk.

The economics class will be finished on Tuesday! Wow, it went by quickly. The organizational behavior class continues on another month, online. I have to write a paper about Jack Welch, the retired CEO of General Electric. My granddad used to work for GE, so this will be cool.

Sweet P is still job hunting. We're going to Chi-town for the library thing (and hopefully some job interviews) very soon! I am SO excited about this. For one thing, because it may mean job interviews and maybe even a job. For another thing, I am just SO excited about a roadtrip with my honey and a vacation from my job. Woot!! Friends recommended checking out the "bean". I will do that!

Sweet P has a new nephew. Born 6/23. Named after the boys' dad, the baby's granddad. Everyone got to visit him at the hospital except me. I'll get to see him another day, I'm sure. This brings us up to... 8 nieces & nephews! Wow. This is going to break the bank come Christmas.

I was talking to someone about learning Spanish today. Maybe I will do that. Random thoughts.
