While driving to the House of Guitars Tuesday afternoon to pick up my son from his guitar lesson, something amazing occurred. I turned left off our street, when all of a sudden, an entire uncut bagel came rolling out of a tree. That’s right, a bagel came rolling down the side of a tree and out into the middle of the street. Right behind the bagel was an enterprising squirrel. He/she had been trying to carry this bagel up into the tree, but had lost its grip. I stopped the van to take a closer look and to make sure I was not losing my mind. All this did was to spook the squirrel, who climbed back up into the tree, only this time, he left the bagel behind. When we returned 10 minutes later, the bagel was still lying in the road and the squirrel was not around. There were, however, visible gnawing marks in the side of the bagel, so maybe the squirrel was moving it one bite at a time.
